Fondazione Francesca Rava – N.P.H. Italia

Fondazione Francesca Rava – N.P.H. Italia is an independent, non political, charitable non profit foundation whose mission is to help children in serious need, in Italy and worldwide, to change their lives in a lasting way with medical care, education and vocational training.

The Foundation was born in 2000 in the name of Francesca, a bright and generous young woman who suddenly died in a car crash, after her sister Mariavittoria, a lawyer, met N.P.H. and decided to dedicate her life to help children. Since then, an outstanding amount of projects were supported from Italy, accomplished in Haiti, where the Foundation is particularly committed, and in other countries in Latin America to support N.P.H. children.

Donations for Bianca Cedrone’s artwork will fund the Francesca Rava Foundation’s response to the Ukraine Emergency, which is bringing medical aid to hospitals, the front line and support to refugees.

Just a few hours after the extremely harsh Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory on 24 February, the Francesca Rava Foundation was activated locally to define the most urgent needs through the head of the Paediatric Hospital of the Bukovnian State Medical University in Chernivtsi, Dr. Oleg Bodnar. Dr. Bodnar is a volunteer paediatric surgeon for the Rava Foundation and has carried out several missions at St. Damien’s in Haiti.

The most acute health emergency concerns the treatment of the wounded and the care of children in paediatric hospitals. Many hospitals have been bombed and medical
equipment have been lost or out of stock due to lack of supply. Therefore, it is important to send supplies quickly in order to guarantee medical care for the wounded soldiers.

There is an urgent need to purchase and send surgical instruments, first-aid kits, electro-coagulators, vitality monitors, antibiotics, anticoagulants, surgical instruments, surgical instruments, scalpels, tourniquets, thermal blankets.
